Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Recognizes Northwestern Mutual for its Support of Childhood Cancer Research

It’s with heartfelt gratitude that we say thank you to Northwestern Mutual for raising critical funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Together, Northwestern Mutual offices raised more than $515,000 through its Race for Research. These dollars will support 10,300 hours of childhood cancer research. Thank you Northwestern Mutual for joining us in the fight. You are making a difference!

Challice Bonifant, MD, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor was awarded a $100,000 grant by Northwestern Mutual, through its nonprofit partner Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). The grant will support Dr. Bonifant’s research for immunotherapies for pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

"There remains much work to be done when it comes to treatments and therapies for childhood cancer, and we're proud to support researchers as they develop these invaluable tools and approaches," said John Kordsmeier, president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. Carl Koschmann, MD, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor was awarded a $100,000 grant by Northwestern Mutual, through its nonprofit partner Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). The grant will support Dr. Koschmann’s research for therapy for pediatric glioblastoma. Koschmann is one of eight researchers selected for the grant funded by Northwestern Mutual nationwide.
