Challice Bonifant, MD, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor was awarded a $100,000 grant by Northwestern Mutual, through its nonprofit partner Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). The grant will support Dr. Bonifant’s research for immunotherapies for pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
"There remains much work to be done when it comes to treatments and therapies for childhood cancer, and we're proud to support researchers as they develop these invaluable tools and approaches," said , president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. "By researching treatments and cures, we're giving children and families help when they need it the most."

through the Children's Holiday Wish Program.
Bryan Smith (left) and Tek Wiegert (right) had the privilege of supporting "Cheers for Children" through Leaders for Kids - an advisory board created to support the the charitable work of Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation. This organization of emerging leaders from southeast Michigan is passionate about the health and wellness of children in the region.

Carl Koschmann, MD, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor was awarded a $100,000 grant by Northwestern Mutual, through its nonprofit partner Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). The grant will support Dr. Koschmann’s research for therapy for pediatric glioblastoma. Koschmann is one of eight researchers selected for the grant funded by Northwestern Mutual nationwide.
